I just put together a collection of sailing-related vloggers and split these into 3 posts – families, couples and individuals. You can find the other vlog posts here.

31. My favourite Greek Island | sailing Ithaca | sail Greece | Lefkas Canal | ParadiseThis week on Kawai we leave Preveza and navigate through Lefkas canal. We are the last in line as we enter the 3.5 mile canal and enjoy watching the locals fishing on the banks of the canal.
We enjoy a nice downwind sail to our next anchorage, Vlikho Bay. This large bay is full of liveaboards and is well protected from the wind and swell. We use the time to freshen up, enjoy some local hospitality however can't swim due to the large jellyfish population in the bay.
The next destination is Ithaca. We get some great winds and sail the 20nm, with the wind slightly ahead of the beam, Kawai loves this wind angle and we love this sail. Ithaca is my favourite Greek Island and has amazing beaches, lush vegetation and some stunning anchorages.
We visit Sarakiniko Beach, Filiatro Beach, Tilemakos Beach and Skhoinos Beach. We spend most of our time in Filiatro Bay, enjoy swimming, hiking, exploring and cleaning the local beaches. Unfortunately the beaches have a variety of litter so we spend a couple of hours returning them to their natural beauty.
Our time at Filiatro comes to an end as the weather takes a turn for the worse and we sail to the sheltered bay of Vathy, the main harbour in Ithaca.
Our names are Jason and Tracey and we traded our house, cars, business, job and security for freedom, adventure, travel and living simply amongst nature and the seas on our 45 foot Hanse 445 sailing boat, Kawai.
We don't know exactly where the winds will take us at this stage but over the next year we hope to sail to Turkey, Greece, Montenegro, Croatia.
Jase loves making travel videos and we decided to upload to youtube to share our adventure. We really hope you enjoy and feel free to drop us a comment any time to chat or subscribe to follow along 🙂
1. The feeling is all gone
2. Underwater, Snake City
3. It will be fine in the end, Dayon
Thanks for watching

HOW TO SAIL AROUND THE WORLDAlthough it may seem crazy to sail around the world, once you analyze the various wind patterns and hurricane seasons and with a bit of planning it’s quite reasonable for anyone with a sense of adventure to do the same. There’s lots of ways to sail around the world. If you’re racing, you often use storms in the southern ocean to propel you along. It’s a completely different approach. One that requires serious boats that are built for those conditions. We on the other hand sail around the world by staying more or less in the trade wind belts. This stacks the odds in our favour. We often have the wind and waves behind, pushing us along and stay warm in the non-stop tropical conditions.

Hidden Tropical Paradise in Dominican Republic | 77 | Beau and Brandy SailingTropical Paradise in Dominican Republic | 77 | Beau and Brandy Sailing
We finally get to go where the locals go here in Barahona, Dominican Republic. We take a taxi to Playa San Rafael, but our driver made a little shortcut to TROPICAL PARADISE. I hidden little gem near the beach. Here in Playa San Rafael, the river meets the ocean.
We were able to experience our first pebble beach and searched for larimar, a gemstone, that you can only find in the Dominican Republic.
On our way back to the anchorage, we stop at the small larimar museum and pick up a bracelet for Brandy.
We get a weather window to leave Barahona and head to our next anchorage, Boca Chica. Once we arrived into Boca Chica, we were surprised to find out that we were not able to anchor ANYWHERE in Boca Chica. So we had to go to the dock, for the first time since we left the states.
We took advantage of the situation, edited videos, filled up water, did laundry and went to the market. We head out pretty quickly, since docks are really not in our budget. We had a pretty weather window and even though we wanted to stop a couple more places... finally make way for Puerto Rico.
We check out and got our International Despacho for Puerto Rico, and we had to have a drug dog come onboard to finish the check out process. We pushed off the docks and said our goodbyes to the Dominican Republic. And set our sights and compass on Puerto Rico

Catamaran vs Monohull - A comprehensive review from owners of bothPart 2 right here: https://youtu.be/05E-Qv6BVfg
A debate as old as time itself! Which is better, a catamaran or a monohull? I'll give away the answer here: like all boats, both are a compromise. However, they each are better for different missions. In fact while we love our Leopard 46, we will own monohulls in the future.

Sailing the World Without a Lot of Money 💰⛵ | S03E51What does it take to sail the world without a lot of money? In this episode we meet another cruising couple, Davy and Erica, who, like us, have had to figure out how to find work while sailing. We luck out when they invite us to tag along on a typical work day aboard their dive boat to explore a 250 foot wreck and an underwater cave system in Grand Cayman. While watching them work their butts off on the job, we reflect on our own work history that has gotten us to where we are now, and attempt to answer the question, “is all the hard work worth it in the end”?

Salt & Tar: Episode 58-Embracing Yard LifeDiving into yard life again. Long and productive days. Napa is hot so taking mid-day breaks is huge. The second half of the day when it's still warm but the decks are fully shaded are the best. After our work here in the yard is complete we'll be looking for a slip closer to the bay to continue fitting the boat together and then sea trials. So if anyone knows of a marina anywhere in the San Fransisco area that will take us for a couple months let us know! We are a wooden boat and need liveaboard to stay on track and on task. The dream is not to live at a dock but to be free on anchor or on the ocean sailing! Having the dock would still be really helpful for the next few stages but ultimately we'll be home-basing from Richardson's bay in Sausalito. It's a huge free anchorage close to the best winds the bay has to offer. Yard life is treating us well but yes we are anxious to get back in to the water!!!
Thanks for watching

Dodging Traffic in the Open Ocean [Adventure #175]Sailing in the North Pacific we cross the main shipping lanes, encountering lots of cargo ship traffic in low visibility. See what it’s like to sail in the fog, and be at sea in cold, damp conditions. As we cross the 2000 nm sailed mark, we finally break out of the fog at about latitude 48°N.
